After being turned, the handle is
subjected to grinding, which involves
removing the rough surface of the
molded pieces and the most impure
part of the brass by means of abrasive
belts of different grades. For modern
handles, the process is completely
automated, while for vintage handles,
human intervention is required to
give that typical artisan taste and
uniqueness that distinguishes them.
Dopo essere stata tornita, la maniglia
è sottoposta a smerigliatura, che
consiste nell’asportazione della
superficie grezza dei pezzi stampati
e della parte più impura dell’ottone
tramite dei nastri abrasivi di
diverse gradazioni. Per le maniglie
moderne il processo è totalmente
automatizzato, mentre per quelle
vintage è necessario l’intervento
dell’uomo per conferire quel tipico
sapore artigianale e unicità che li
contraddistingue.
