The Valpolicella is a harmonious blend of history,
culture, folklore and tradition, all enriched by a
mouthwatering culinary tradition and the hospitality
of its inhabitants.
The wholesome traditional dishes of the area
accompanied by the finest of its fruity, full-bodied
wines-the Valpolicella, Recioto and Amarone.
Here Nature reigns supreme in the flowering cherry
and peach orchards in Spring and can be seen, at
its best, in the juicy grapes fresh for the picking in
Autumn.
The Eastern section of Verona's
Province, with its history, traditions and
wines, is full of surprises for the visitor.
Old town perched on rocky out-crops
and dominated by castles, rural "corti"
surrounded by olive groves and stately
country houses greet the eye. This area
also offers trips through prehistoric and
geopaleonthological sites of unique
interest- the famous "pesciara" for
instance where fish fossils were
unearthed.
The medieval town of Soave is totally
surrounded by walls which slope down
from the castle, and it is surrounded by
vine-yards which produce the famous
Soave wines.
