Laskasas’ journey over the past 20 years has been one of
remarkable transformation. What started as a passion-
driven brand with no formal design team has grown
into an established interior design brand known for its
impeccable craftsmanship and timeless aesthetic. This
evolution did not happen overnight but was rather the
result of an unrelenting commitment to quality, innovation,
and a deep understanding of what makes a space truly
special.
In the early years, Laskasas didn’t have a dedicated
product designer. Pieces were often based on inspiration
from various sources, such as international trade fairs,
where ideas were gathered and transformed into
functional and beautiful furniture. These early designs,
while successful and loved by customers, were more
about blending and adapting existing concepts rather
than creating something completely original.
One of the standout pieces from this era was the K010 sofa,
a best-seller that embodied this early approach. Without
a formal design background, our founder, Celso Lascasas,
would play around by combining different elements from
various products — taking the feet from one, the seat from
another — and shaping them into a cohesive whole. The
K010 sofa became a defining piece in the brand’s history,
staying in production for several years. Though it no longer
represents the brand’s current identity, it remains an
important symbol of our creative beginnings.
As the brand matured, so did our design philosophy. The
pivotal moment in this evolution came with the arrival of
Pedro Neto, our Chief Product Designer. Pedro brought with
him expertise and a clear vision for the future of Laskasas.
His influence shifted the brand towards a more cohesive
and intentional design language: one that marries
contemporary forms with timeless beauty.
Pedro’s approach to design is rooted in the idea of
balance. Whether it’s the rich feel of marble or the soft
and inviting texture of upholstery, his goal is always to let
the materials shine. By respecting the inherent qualities
of each material, Pedro and his team create pieces that
feel both modern and enduring, allowing them to fit into a
variety of interiors while retaining their own identity.
This philosophy is embodied in some of our most iconic
pieces, which continue to define Laskasas’ aesthetic.
