Piero Lissoni — Outdoor Collection
Lissoni Outdoor Collection is a family of furnishings
that thinks of itself as a part of a whole, made up
of elements that spring from one to another. One
element of its basic nature, is its ability to tune its
voice to harmonize with the space that houses it.
When you look at it, it seems to offer an invitation:
something along the lines of an elegant and
welcoming wave of the hand. You might even sense
a courteous presence that catches your eye without
being obvious about it, establishing itself as a
smartly designed part of the environment, domestic
and natural.
This predisposition for a certain harmony is intrinsic
to its hybrid nature. It can take the form of a lounge
chair or a three-seat sofa, cozy and comfortable,
with ample cushions; but if you’re willing to give up a
seat, it turns into an asymmetrical sofa with a built-in
side table. And if you just can’t live without a stool,
it promptly puts one at your disposal, either white,
black, or red, the colours of the Lissoni Outdoor
Collection. Depending on whether it has a cushion
or not it can serve as a seat or a coffee table.
The collection is also hybrid in nature as much as
it lives outside of the house but seems to inhabit its
walls: a presence in a natural landscape, but also
an extension of an interior.
Conceived to harmonize in form and spirit with the
collection of outdoor furniture created by Richard
Schultz in 1966, at the behest of Florence Knoll,
and considered the first example of modern exterior
design, Lissoni Outdoor Collection was born classic
from day one.
