Integration with architecture is a process of formal and
functional agreement. The first step towards accomplishing
this utopian vision is miniaturisation. Since the 1980s, we
have sought to develop solutions that could be integrated
into architecture, capable of illuminating buildings by
inserting lighting appliances directly into them and subtract
them from urban spaces. Compact and by no means
invasive solutions. This step forwards, however, was
achieved through technological change: the dimensional
aspect of LEDs set off a highly innovative and selective
process that precisely involves the miniaturisation of optics
and equipment. We consequently worked on design
to achieve a shared dream: products so minimal that
they cannot be seen despite being capable of delivering
efficient, controllable and comfortable light directly from the
architecture itself.
