Sounds a warning before the situation gets too precarious –
now with “Q” quality seal
The Gira Basic Q smoke alarm device can save lives. It immediately
detects dangerous smoke accumulation and sounds an alarm with a
loud, pulsing tone and a flashing LED. In doing so, it works using the
photoelectric scattered-light principle: a diode in the device emits light
signals and a photocell analyses the scattered light caused by smoke
particles. An alarm is triggered as soon as the concentration of the
scattered light exceeds the threshold value. The permanently installed
lithium battery has a service life of at least 10 years.
The smoke alarm device that’s twice as safe
The new Gira smoke alarm device Dual Q has two detection methods:
processor-controlled scattered light measurement detects smoke
particles before the situation become dangerous for humans. Heat
detection by thermal sensor measures temperature changes in the
room, thereby identifying fires faster. Interference and external
influences can also be controlled more reliably. The lithium battery
has a service life of at least 10 years. Up to 40 devices can be linked
together.
Compact life savers
Gira smoke alarm devices can save lives, as they warn occupants before the smoke
concentration becomes dangerous. The range includes the new Gira Basic Q and Dual Q
smoke alarm devices. The Gira smoke alarm devices are approved in accordance with
DIN EN 14604:2009-02 and certified according to the vfdb (German Fire Protection
Association) guideline 14-01 on “Q” quality seals.
Certified increased safety standards
The Gira Basic Q and Dual Q smoke alarm devices are enhanced
versions of the proven Gira smoke alarm devices. Bearing the new “Q”
quality seal, these models meet more stringent quality criteria. The
requirements of the new vfdb guideline 14-01 must be met in order to
be awarded the seal. Both Gira smoke alarm devices stand for verified
durability with simultaneously increased stability, for example against
external influences. The risk of false alarms, which can occur in
environments with interference, has been further reduced. The
permanently installed battery guarantees a service life of at least
10 years for the devices.
Networking options via wireless signal and KNX
Gira offers various options for networking the Dual Q smoke alarm
device. With the KNX module, it is possible to connect any number of
smoke alarm devices to the KNX system. In case of danger, the signal
from the Dual Q smoke alarm device is forwarded to the KNX system,
which reacts intelligently to the fire hazard. The wireless Dual smoke
alarm device module in turn allows up to 40 Dual Q smoke alarm
devices to be linked without a KNX system. The eNet wireless converter
intermediate plug also enables the smoke alarm device to be integrated
into the eNet system.
