Door
communication
system devices
The essential components for door communication
The Gira door communication system offers two different control devices to set up audio
communication only or to add video functionality for even more convenience. Depending
on the cable length and the number of participants, repeaters increase the range of
audio, video and data signals. Using the supplied DRA adapter, all of the devices can be
mounted on a top-hat rail in the current distributor. Surface-mounted or flush-mounted
installations are also possible in many cases.
DCS IP gateway for integrating multi-
media control devices
This gateway makes it possible to connect
the Gira door communications system to a
computer and IP-capable phones, to the
Gira Control 9 and 19 clients and to the new
Gira G1 via the network. In addition, it is
possible to control the door communication
using the home server and a plug-in in the
Gira interface.
For DCS systems with audio and video
components
The audio control device is intended for
DCS systems in which audio components
are supplied. It supports up to 70
participants are and features a door opener
contact. If video components are also used,
the video control device is required. It
makes more power available, as colour
camera and TFT colour display require a
higher power supply.
DCS camera gateway for the integration
of external cameras
An analogue camera can be connected to
the Gira DCS system via this gateway. This
makes it possible to keep an eye on several
cameras or various selected areas with one
home station. The DCS camera gateway
can be operated with or without a door
station. If the external camera is assigned
to a door station, the door call auto-
matically activates the camera.
Bundling video signals
The video multiplexer bundles the signals
of several door stations, DCS camera
gateways, and DCS IP gateways. A video
multiplexer can bring the video signals from
three cameras together. Two video multi-
plexers can be linked to connect up to five
door stations. If additional external
cameras are integrated in the Gira door
communication system, the required
DCS camera gateways must be “looped
through”.
Ideal for range extension
The DCS repeater enables the range to
be extended and the number of devices
increased. It amplifies the audio, video and
data signals of the door communication
system in both directions. This allows both
the cable length and the number of devices
in a door intercom to be doubled, making
the DCS repeater an ideal solution for large
buildings with numerous residential units.
