The Amelie bench (available at 140cm, 160cm, 180cm, 200cm, 220cm and 240cm) rests on a wire frame without mid-section support – together with its classy and elegant design this piece appears far lighter and smaller than it actually is and adapts itself perfectly into every room concept.
The Berlin-based design duo have taken the Amelie model’s characteristic clear lines and gone a step further with them. Quilt stitching across the seating surface of the chair creates a low-key pattern on which light breaks in a whole range of different ways, diffusing soft visual rhythms across the piece. It isn’t hard to recognise city life and the architectural variety of vibrant urban centres as the source of inspiration behind the design. The draped look characteristic of the PERRET SCHAAD style guided Johanna and Tutia through the development of the bench; the result is that the finished piece is a harmonious, yet intriguing blend of fashion and interior design which shows how two entirely different spheres can be brought together by shared values.
