«Quando Genova mi ha dedicato la bella mostra a Palazzo Ducale,
all’inaugurazione ricordo di aver detto al Sindaco: ‘Questi genovesi
che oggi amano il design mi ricordano la Milano degli anni Cinquanta-
Sessanta: la stessa voglia di fare con una classe dirigente aperta a cose
cui non era abituata’. Genova mi ha dato un’emozione forte ed è stato
magnifico osservare ragazzi pieni di entusiasmo, di progetti e di iniziative.

DESIGN FROM THE 50S TO THE PRESENT DAY.
«When the City of Genoa dedicated a wonderful exhibition in its Palazzo
Ducale to my work, at the inauguration, I remember saying to the Mayor:
‘The people of Genoa who love design today remind me of Milan in the
50s and 60s: they have the same drive, with management open to ideas
that they did not expect’. Genoa gave me powerful emotions and it was
fantastic seeing the young bloods bursting with enthusiasm, designs and
