Basic DMX Wiring Scheme
A DMX system can include an unlimited number of fixtures on
condition that the following rules are respected:
·
Use suitable cables for DMX bus: shielded twisted pair with 110
Ohm constant impedance (e.g. Cod.186). The use of different
cables doesn’t assure the same performance.
·
Every 400mt of cable the DMX bus signal needs to be regenerated
with a Splitter. This allows to extend the installation.
·
Every 20 fixtures the DMX bus signal needs to be regenerated
with a Splitter. This allows to extend the installation.
·
All fixtures have to be connected in series to the DMX bus. No
star connection allowed. It has to be taken into account that the
use of a splitter can solve the problem having one bus input and
more bus output.
·
Each cable must have a 120 Ohm termination resistor.
