The Happy sofa system was created in 2002 under the attentive and constant direction of Antonio Citterio. Happy is conceived with extreme comfort, sober elegance and the quality of materials and workmanship as its watchwords, all managed and controlled up to the finished product.
The sofa has a burnished or chromed steel base, very rigorous and polished, pleasantly contrasting with the softness of the large goose feather upholstered cushions for the seat and back. Proportions make Happy special: a low sofa, a little above the floor, with a very deep seat, complete with back-rest cushions that become comfortable side arms in the chaise longue version.
The winning element of this successful product has also been the decision to offer it covered in a special leather with a lived-in, almost distressed appearance, in warm tones ranging from cognac to dark brown. The ‘wrinkled’ appearance of this leather is an innovative element since it overturns the way in which the leather sofa is habitually conceived.
