A desire for great simplicity
Every aspect of Picnik’s shape is based on a functional
need. One flat aluminium sheet is transformed into a
picnic table, thanks to a number of strategic incisions
and folds. The rounded surfaces are necessary to
increase its strength; the sloping feet are necessary to
enable the tables to be stacked. But how did the design
come into being?
