INTRODUCCIÓN
Words are units of language carrying a meaning, but they reach their expressive fulfilment when in
a wider grammatical construction. In quite a similar way, our pieces of furniture all by themselves
already tell a story, convey an emotion, and show a personality that makes them unique and distinct
from the others. But it is when they get involved in a broader context when they finally make sense.
It might be drastically new and different, yet respectful towards their essence.
This context is no other than the specific decorative project. It can be a hotel lobby or its
bedrooms, the terrace of a restaurant, a cocktail bar up in the rooftop of a historic building, and
even an exhibition or a marketing action. In these environments, pieces are recoded according to
the language of each architect or interior designer and what is more, they stop being just design
objects to become daily objects. In the end that was the reason why they were devised in the first
place, when they were simply the germ of an idea within their creator’s mind.
We have always believed that our furniture must accomplish not just a utilitarian function, which
is obvious yet no less prosaic, but also an aesthetic function, which is something fundamental
in the era of image, as it proves our determined bid to produce attractive designs, elegant and
contemporary. Our pieces attend to their purpose, but without giving up on beauty and above
all, they are timeless, because of their resistance and because they do not follow the dictates of
ephemeral trends.
This double conception together with our two production lines (outdoor and indoor) makes
them most suitable to meet the demand of hospitality industry, which at the moment is quickly
expanding worldwide. Now it is easier to find our furniture in hotels and restaurants all over the
world, integrated into projects led by important architecture firms and interior design studios.
And this makes us feel a bit stronger and of course, very proud.
Up to the point that we were really eager to show them and so we decided to make a fine
selection of the most important projects over the past few years and gather them in a catalogue
breathing a somewhat different air than our classic product catalogues. Because our sensations
are also different and we feel so much happy and excited when someone emails the picture of
a new project featuring our pieces. Each and every one of these projects bolsters our conviction
that we are making things right and this is how we must keep working.
Choosing Settings as the catalogue title was not a mere coincidence. We wanted to turn again
to theatre argot, as we did when it occurred to us to compose a series of fictional, dramatised
scenes, where our iconic pieces played the main role. We let our imagination fly. This time, however,
settings are real, tangible and long-lasting. Ladies and gentlemen, the curtain rises.
