Quando l’acqua dipinge e decora. Il rovere contiene una
notevole quantità di tannino, una sostanza presente nel
legno. L’acqua piovana, colando sulle travi accatastate,
lo deposita su quelle inferiori. Quando l’acqua evapora,
il tannino crea degli aloni dal bordo scuro, apprezzabili
in superficie.
Painted and decorated by water. Oak contains a large
amount of tannin, a substance found in wood. As
rainwater runs down over the stacked beams, it deposits
the tannin on the ones at the bottom. When the water
evaporates, the tannin creates dark-edged marks, visible
on the surface.
