at Politecnico di Milano,
Giulio Manzoni worked
with various organizations
including the University of
Milan and Pavia, the Venice
Biennale, the District 8
in Como, Intercommunale
Pordenone, the Casino
Campione d’Italia. Winner
of: the award “Leonardo”
at the Museum of Science
and Technology in Milan
and “Professional Design
Award - cDIM - Valencia”.
He holds several Italian
and European patents
for his works in the
field of industrial design.
His work is focused on
a particular attention to
multi-functional products
and new tecnologies.
“Enrico Pellizzoni”
brand was created
in 1986 from a tradition
in leather production
that had spanned
almost one hundred
years. Since the early
1900s, the Pellizzoni
family had made of
leather their passion,
initially entering
the footwear sector
but immediately
repositioning themselves
in furnishings.
The company is
traditionally based in
Mariano Comense
(CO-Italy) and has
been established in
its current 4,000 Sq. m.
complex since 1988,
where essential
residential and office
furnishings are
produced: chairs,
armchairs, stools,
sofas, tables, desks,
cabinets and beds.
The strength of the
Enrico Pellizzoni brand
lies in the synthesis
between traditional
know how and
technological
innovation. Continuous
modernisation of
machinery and
manual accuracy
guarantee each
phase of the
production process,
from leather cutting
to stitching, and
from upholstering
to finishes.

Fauciglietti Engineering
Fauciglietti Engineering
studio was founded in 1986
by Renzo Fauciglietti
together with his wife
Graziella Bianchi:
the aim was “the search
and development of
new products of design
as well as their planning
and their production”.
The prizes and awards
they have received (Tecnhotel
in Genoa, Compasso d’Oro,
Neste Form in Finland, the
silver medal at Batimat
in Paris) are the result of
a constant job of research
and innovation in the product
development. Furthermore
Renzo Fauciglietti is teacher
at Centro di Cultura
Scientifica “Alessandro Volta”
in Como and university
lecturer at Politecnico
and Bocconi in Milan.

Michele Cadore
Michele Cadore was born
in 1965 in Florence.
The design has always been
his dream since he was a
child. The arrival point was
the opening of his own
design study in 1989.
Before he got his diploma
at the Institute of Art and
graduated in Architecture.
His own and main interest isn’t
Architecture in itself but rather
the objects and their industrial
production. “My lines are
always clear; I think this
fits well with the requirements
of the firm Enrico Pellizzoni”.
Thanks to this collaboration
Michele Cadore can dedicate
himself to his first love:
the industrial design. This
true passion rewarded him
with prizes like Top Ten
for the chair of the year
in 1997 and Good Design
in Birmingham for a sofa.

Grassi&Bianchi
Grassi&Bianchi studio,
founded in 1984 by the
architect Sergio Bianchi
with his wife, is engaged
mainly in building trade, from
planning to restoration of
private and public buildings.
The pleasure of being
designer comes also from
the creation of pieces of
furniture. “I often long for
the past when my studio
was concerned with the
planning of furniture like
chairs, tables and writing
desks. Unfortunately
now we have no time
to apply ourselves to
this sector and probably
the right partners are
missing”. Enrico Pellizzoni
represented the occasion
to plan pieces of furniture
of a simple elegance
just drawing essential
lines on a white sheet.

Cappelletti&Pozzoli
Giuliano Cappelletti was
born in Cantù in 1946.
Enzo Pozzoli was born in the
same town four years later.
Both got their diploma at
the Institute of Art and both
graduated in Architecture
at the Polytechnic in Milan.
They opened their
professional design study
Udacanturiodesign in 1974,
that is engaged in the
planning of single furniture
elements as well as whole
rooms or houses, that plans
re-styling in the public sector
as well as in the private one,
that designs offices as well
as showrooms and stores.
Prizes and awards come
soon: the most important
ones are the “Compasso
d’Oro” in 1990 and the

Danilo Bianchi
His background is linear and
traditional for people who
aim to become an architect:
he attended the Institute of
Art in Cantù and he got his
diploma. He started soon a
collaboration with a design
studio near where he lived.
This working experience
lasted ten years. In 1989,
at the age of 31 years old,
he opened his own studio.
“I consider my job as a
continuous challenge.
Whether with myself or with
the company who places
the order. The blank sheet
is an enemy to pull down
every time: you always need
to raise a new idea or an
original line to draw an item
in an elegant way. Thinking
to particular shapes or
strange forms is not enough,
I have to pay a strong
attention to materials”.
Benedini Associati
Architecture studio of Bibi,
Camilla and Giampaolo
Benedini has been
operating for many years
in the design of different
industry sectors and in
the architectural field, too.
The experiences gained
in these two fields develop
an approach of continuous
research of innovative
manufacturing processes
that extend to transversal
fields and are applied
in restoration, renovation
or new building construction
and in business and
museum exhibitions;
such experiences allow
to cope with the study of
the product in a pragmatic
way starting from the actual
application requirements.
