Screw Table
1991
“When I look at the world and my surroundings I don’t always think to scale.
I like it when sizes and expectations are inverted. When small things become big.
For the Screw table, its namesake screw is scaled up – the perfect inspiration
for a table leg and head. The same shape, realised differently, usefully, for a new
purpose. Of course, it is also good for the imagination: in which you are in inch
tall in the land of giants, where even screws are almost your size…”
Copacabana Table
1991
“My designs often have relationships to one another. The creation of one
might inspire a new idea, and I like to think of particular pieces as partners.
The Copacabana table was designed to go with the Pastil chair; the curved
line of the table suits the round shape of the chair.”
