EDRA THROUGH MY EYES
UNA MOSTRA DI BART VOS PER EDRA NELLO SHOWROOM VOS INTERIEUR
AN EXHIBITION BY BART VOS FOR EDRA IN THE VOS INTERIEUR SHOWROOM

al 18 dicembre 2021 al 18 giugno 2022, Vos Interieur, negozio
di interni e arredamento di Groninga, Olanda, ha dedicato una
mostra speciale a Edra. Dopo la prima mostra dedicata al padre
Henk Vos, Bart Vos, ha voluto condividere un altro pezzo importante della
sua storia, sia personale che professionale. Infatti, quella del legame tra
Vos ed Edra, è prima di tutto una storia di grande amicizia: quella tra Bart
e Valerio. “Un’amicizia vera e profonda – racconta Valerio Mazzei – che
va avanti da qualche decennio; fondata sul rispetto, la stima reciproca, sul
buon dialogo, sulla qualità e serietà del lavoro.
Questi valori per me sono i più importanti e
hanno fatto sì che questa amicizia autentica si
sia rafforzata sempre di più negli anni”. Bart la
descrive come una “reazione chimica”, come
quando incontri qualcuno e immediatamente
senti che è già partito qualcosa”. Una chimica
che scaturisce da una parola che “con il design
forse non ha niente a che fare: la fiducia”.
Bart non vuole che Vos Interieur sia solo
uno showroom. Vuole che sia un luogo dove
l’ambiente diventa una storia che coinvolge
e seduce lo spettatore. Vuole che la visita di
un cliente sia qualcosa di più della semplice
osservazione di oggetti. Vuole che richieda
una spiegazione, che porti a una riflessione
più ampia. Come accade quando si parla di
Edra.
In Edra Through My Eyes, Bart ha presentato
Edra attraverso schizzi, prototipi e allestimenti
disseminati nello showroom. La mostra ha
avuto un duplice scopo.
Da un lato, ha comunicato l’orgoglio di Vos
Interieur come rivenditore Edra. Dall’altro, ha
mirato a far conoscere in modo approfondito
il mondo dell’azienda toscana, la sua filosofia,
la qualità e la bellezza dei suoi prodotti.Il tutto attraverso gli occhi di Bart. È
stata un’occasione per parlare di ciò che sta a cuore sia a Vos Interieur che a
Edra, e di ciò che le lega indissolubilmente da oltre 30 anni.
Ha parlato dei valori e dei principi che le guidano, basati sull’importanza
dei rapporti personali, dell’amicizia e della fiducia; su una comune
professionalità e attenzione alla gestione dell’azienda; su una visione del
design che guarda alla sua qualità assoluta, garantendo il benessere e il
comfort delle persone; e, infine, su una comune visione dell’abitare e dello
scopo di produrre e vendere mobili.

rom 18 December to 18 June 2022, Vos Interieur, an interior and
furniture shop in Groening, the Netherlands, dedicated a special
exhibition to Edra. After the first exhibition dedicated to his father Henk
Vos, Bart Vos wanted to share another important piece of his story, both personal
and professional. Indeed, the bond between Vos and Edra is first and foremost a
story of great friendship. It could also sound like: the story of Bart and Valerio’s
friendship. A Dutchman and a Tuscan who nevertheless use the same words
to describe their thinking. They both love the Renaissance, pasta with tomato
sauce and basil, Valerio’s favourite gift to Bart.
“A true and deep friendship,” says Valerio
Mazzei, “that has lasted for a few decades and
is founded on respect, mutual esteem, good
dialogue, quality and reliability at work. These
values are the most important to me and have
made this genuine friendship grow stronger
and stronger over the years.” Bart describes it
as a “‘chemical reaction’, like when you meet
someone and immediately feel that something
has already started.” This is chemistry that
springs from a word that “perhaps has nothing
to do with design: trust.” Bart does not want
Vos Interieur to be just a showroom. He
wants it to be a place where the environment
becomes a story that engages and seduces the
viewer. He wants a customer’s visit to be more
than just the observation of objects. He wants
the customer to ask for an explanation, leading
to broader reflection. Like Edra’s furniture.
In “Edra Through My Eyes”, Bart presented
Edra through sketches, prototypes and
displays scattered around the showroom.
The exhibition had a dual purpose. On the
one hand, he communicated Vos Interieur’s
pride in being an Edra dealer. On the other
hand, it aimed to give an in-depth insight into the world of the Tuscan company,
its philosophy, and the quality and beauty of its products. All through Bart’s
eyes. It was an opportunity to talk about what lies close to the hearts of both
Vos Interieur and Edra, and what has inextricably linked them for more than
30 years. He spoke about the values and principles that guide them, based on
the importance of personal relationships, friendship and trust; on a common
professionalism and attention to the management of the company; on a vision
of design that looks at its absolute quality, guaranteeing people’s well-being and
comfort; and, finally, on a common vision of living and the purpose of producing
and selling furniture.
