giugno 2022, al Garage 21 di Milano, sono stati svelati i
quindici vincitori dell’edizione 2022 dell’EDIDA, acronimo
di Elle Deco International Awards, premio assegnato ai
designer e ai progetti più interessanti nel panorama internazionale.
Quest’anno, il riconoscimento per la categoria “Outdoor” è andato
a Jacopo Foggini, per la collezione A’mare, per Edra. La giuria,
composta dai 25 capiredattori delle redazioni Elle Decoration di tutto
il mondo, ha premiato l’interpretazione speciale del tema da parte
dell’autore spiegando: “I pezzi – lettino, panca, poltrona, sedia, tavoli
– assemblati a mano, sono archetipi che ricordano disegni elementari.
Realizzati con una serie di aste irregolari, evocano la magia dell’acqua
che scorre. L’illusione della fluidità, alla vista e al tatto, è rappresentata
dal policarbonato, lavorato ad hoc per renderlo elastico e confortevole.
L’impatto visivo crea un paesaggio cristallizzato ricco di riflessi e forme
fluide per arredare in modo inedito gli spazi esterni e di relax”. Edra
è orgogliosa: questo importante premio è anche un riconoscimento
del lungo percorso di collaborazione con Foggini. Dal 2009, anno di
presentazione del tavolo Capriccio, Jacopo Foggini progetta per Edra
oggetti come pezzi unici, di grande espressività e personalità, tra cui le
sedie Gina, Gilda B., Ella, le poltrone Margherita, Alice, Ester e i tavoli
Egeo e Cicladi. Su A’mare Foggini racconta: “Sono oggetti preziosi che
non lasciano indifferente. Sono una sperimentazione che ha messo in
luce, ancora una volta, quello che per me significa collaborare con Edra:
sviluppare una doppia tensione e ricerca: quella poetica, intuitiva, e
quella manuale, tecnica”.

n June 2022, the fifteen winners of the 2022 edition of the EDIDA,
an acronym for Elle Deco International Awards, were unveiled at
Garage 21 in Milan. These awards are given to the most interesting
designers and projects on the international scene. This year, the prize
for the “Outdoor” category was awarded to Jacopo Foggini, for his
‘A’mare’ collection, for Edra. The jury, made up of the 25 editors-in-
chief of Elle Decoration editorial offices around the world, rewarded
the artist’s special interpretation of the theme, explaining: “The pieces
- lounger, bench, chair, tables - assembled by hand, are archetypes
recalling elementary drawings. Realised with a series of irregular sticks,
they evoke the magic of flowing water. The illusion of fluidity, to the
eye and to the touch, is represented by polycarbonate, which is specially
processed to make it both elastic and comfortable. The visual impact
creates a crystallised landscape full of reflections and fluid shapes to
furnish outdoor and lounging spaces in a completely new way.” Edra is
proud: this important award is also a recognition of the long-standing
collaboration with Foggini. Since 2009, the year the Capriccio table
was presented, Jacopo Foggini has been designing objects for Edra as
unique pieces of great expressiveness and personality, including the
chairs Gina, Gilda, Ella; the armchairs Margherita, Alice, Ester; and
the tables, Egeo and Cicladi. About A’mare, Foggini says: “They are
precious objects that grab your attention. This is an experiment that
highlights, once more, what working with Edra means to me, namely
developing a dual tension and research: the poetic and intuitive on the
one hand, and the manual and technical on the other.”
