In questi progetti si riconosce una costante ricerca di
innovazione, una voglia di raggiungere nuovi traguardi
in termini di sperimentazione. Un valore in cui Edra si

Scegliamo le migliori firme, i migliori brand e prodotti di
arredamento italiano, tra cui i pezzi di Edra, che abbiamo
proposto con successo a più armatori. Anche grazie a loro
abbiamo dato nuova vita alla storia della nautica nazionale.
In particolare abbiamo utilizzato i divani Sherazade per la loro
comodità e versatilità. Piattaforme che ricreano atmosfere
informali nei nostri living e che rispondono perfettamente
al desiderio di flessibilità d’uso che richiedono sempre
più spesso i nostri armatori internazionali. Nell’ SD 112,
un armatore messicano, famoso architetto, innamorato
del brand Edra, ha scelto Sherazade per trasformare la
zona living. Grazie agli schienali riposizionabili del divano,
il salone può trasformarsi in una funzionale sala da pranzo,
all’occorrenza collocando il tavolo smontabile al centro.
Altra felice esperienza di saloni arredati con Sherazade è
quella dell’ SL 118, proprietà di un armatore di Monaco
di Baviera, importante costruttore immobiliare, amante
del design. Con una disposizione più articolata, ha scelto
queste sedute per la sua zona living a prua, con annessa
area home cinema e con zona pranzo verso poppa. Invece,
per un armatore spagnolo, anch’esso con attività legate
alle costruzioni e alla ristorazione, abbiamo selezionato
i contenitori Scrigno, sia per la zona pranzo, che dialoga
con l’opera d’arte di Ionda, sia per la cabina armatore.
Edra ha customizzato quest’ultimo contenitore, rendendolo
funzionale come mobile tv, grazie ad un sistema alza
abbassa, e facendolo diventare protagonista di questa
scenografica suite armatoriale. La versatilità delle aziende
italiane è esemplare per poter dialogare con le esigenze
della nautica, producendo in breve tempo pezzi speciali
idonei alle nostre esigenze.
Cosa ci può dire sulle relazioni con l’arte, le maestranze e il
territorio, che nella vostra storia ci sembrano così importanti
e radicate?
La nautica aveva bisogno di connettersi con mondi
apparentemente molto diversi che con il loro apporto, le
hanno fatto guadagnare in dignità e qualità. Questa qualità
ha bisogno di una manifattura d’eccellenza che, come
disse Enzo Mari in un convegno organizzato da Sanlorenzo
a Lerici, nel 2006, non è frutto casuale di un luogo, ma è la
stratificazione della storia del territorio che lo rende unico. E

We choose the best designers, the best brands, and
Italian furniture, including the pieces by Edra that we
have successfully suggested to quite a few ship-owners.
They helped us inject new life into the history of national
yachting. In particular, we used Sherazade sofas for their
comfort and versatility. Platforms that recreate an informal
vibe in our living spaces and that perfectly fulfil the wish for
versatility that our international ship-owners are increasingly
demanding. For the SD 112, the Mexican owner, a famous
architect who loved Edra, chose Sherazade to transform its
living quarters. Using the adjustable backrests of the sofa,
the lounge can turn into a functional dining room, with the
folding table in the middle if needed.
Another successful experience of a lounge furnished with
Sherazade is that of the SL 118, owned by a big property
developer from Munich with a passion for design. In a
more structured layout, he chose these seats for his fore
living area, adjoining a home cinema area, and a dining
area at the stern. For a Spanish owner, instead, who
also worked in property development and restaurants,
we selected Scrigno sideboards for both the dining area,
which dialogues with Ionda’s artwork, and the ship-owner’s
cabin.
Edra customised the sideboard, making it work as a TV
stand through a height-adjustable system and making
it steal the show in that spectacular master suite. The
versatility of Italian companies is impeccable in the way they
know how to interact with the requirements of the yachting
world, as they produced special pieces that suited our
needs in no time.
What can you tell us about the relations with art, the workers
and the local community that sound so important and deeply-
rooted in your history?
The yachting world needed to connect with seemingly very
different worlds, which, with their contribution, made it gain
dignity and quality.
Such quality needs the very best manufacturing processes,
which, as Enzo Mari said at a conference organised by
Sanlorenzo in Lerici, in 2006, is not a random fruit of a
place, it is the stratification of the local history that makes
it unique. And, as for stratifications in the sailing world,
Liguria, along with Tuscany, is second to none.
