“I bow before you”, says the name of this charming holiday
residence, suspended between the blues of the sky and the
Aegean sea. “I bow before you” it repeats, throwing open its
doors before the guest who finds a magical place within its
limewashed walls, a place where time stops ticking and makes
way for contemplation.
An island in an island, Namaste Suites invites the traveller to
embrace the silence, where distant echoes of ancient stories
still have the power to speak to the present. Tales of gods
and heroes, and of a civilisation that vanished 3,600 years
ago when a volcanic eruption reshaped the land and altered
the course of history, giving rise to myths that, even today-
following in Plato’s footsteps - lead, right here, in search of
Atlantis.
Partly carved into the volcanic stone, this soul-soothing
retreat preserves the traditional structure of the houses in
Oia, in dazzling white, while reinterpreting its architectural
purity with touches of Eastern mysticism. The bathroom
also favours meditation and well-being, enhanced by the
warm, precious glow of the Admiral Copper Effect cast
iron bathtub, where the reddish-brown hues of the caldera
rocks are reflected in the mind. The perfect read to enjoy
while basking in the warmth of the water or relaxing on the
terraces overlooking the sea is just a stone’s throw away, at
the Atlantis Bookstore—an utopia for bibliophiles founded by
two young Americans who came to the southernmost of the
Cyclades for a week’s holiday and stayed for twenty years.
“Mi inchino a te”, dice con il suo nome questa incantevole

In parte scavato nella pietra vulcanica, questo rifugio
dell’anima conserva intatta la struttura tradizionale delle
case del villaggio di Oia e il loro bianco abbacinante e ne
reinterpreta la purezza architettonica con tocchi di misticismo
orientale. Invita alla meditazione e al benessere anche la sala
da bagno, animata dai bagliori caldi e preziosi della vasca in
ghisa Admiral Copper Effect in cui si specchia, nel pensiero,
il rosso bruno delle rocce della caldera. Il libro perfetto
da leggere cullati dal tepore dell’acqua o sulle terrazze
affacciate sul mare si trova a due passi da casa, nella libreria

statunitensi, arrivati nella più meridionale delle Cicladi per
