Just as the digital revolution has drastically changed the way we
live and work, so will sustainability in the near future. Sustainability
will create added value and drive economic growth, it will permeate
everything we do and that will have its consequences. What
consequences then? That’s what we at Delta Light are looking for
every day. Sustainability is not so much a destination of one big
goal, but rather a path with an accumulation of smaller initiatives,
where every effort counts to achieve that bigger collective result.
At Delta Light, we recognise that our business activities have
an impact on the environment, and we take this responsibility
seriously. We place great importance on ecological awareness
and sustainability. Our goal is to produce light fittings that are
inventive, efficient and also environmentally friendly. We constantly
strive to improve our products and operations in terms of efficiency,
longevity and sustainability.
With each new collection, we integrate the latest technological
developments wherever possible, make improvements in
recyclability and pay close attention to efficient use of materials,
production and transport.
Our commitment has been recognised with prestigious awards
such as the Lighting For Good Awards in 2019 and 2020. Our
commitment to sustainability does not only extend to our production
processes. Our headquarters in Belgium are equipped with solar
panels that produce enough renewable energy to power our entire
production line and our office site. We also pay a lot of attention
to recycling and waste
management. Many of our
luminaires are made of
aluminium profiles and we
make sure that they are
manufactured optimally, thus
minimising waste. And all that
aluminium waste is collected
and recycled, as aluminium
is 100% reusable.
But we are also upcycling. In
the autumn of 2022, together
with Dutch company MVRDV,
we launched High Profile, a
collection of colourful lighting
fixtures based on aluminium
cutting remnants from profiles. A refreshing and sustainable design
that was awarded the dezeen award for best in lighting of the year
2022, an honourable mention we cherish.
We are also quite proud to offer our employees a healthy, safe
and harmonious environment, both in our global offices and in our
Belgian headquarters. Our sustainability efforts and commitment
to the well-being of our employees earned us the bronze Ecovadis
medal in 2019, and the silver in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
