CORD DECO
Roberto Paoli took inspiration form the geometric work of Kepler. The mirror is a circle divided
by a cord. Following the proportions chosen by Kepler, Roberto has emphasized the difference
between the two parts of the circle. The biggest segment is made of flat mirror whereas
the smaller segment is made of silvered glass with a texture. Silvering the textured glass
produces a surprisingly aesthetically-pleasing material. The reflection in the mirror is split,
creating a part blurry, part clear reflection. The contrast between these two images is intriguing.
