Il a inventé la lampe Gras pour répondre à de mul-
tiples usages. Les lampes Gras se sont adaptées
aux machines outils, aux bureaux, aux escaliers, aux
navires, aux villas d’architecte…
Mais qu’est-ce, alors, le mobilier de Gras ?
C’est un début de proposition. Il s’agit d’adapter du
mobilier à la Lampe GRAS.
Du mobilier fonctionnel, bien dessiné, dénué de tout
égo, résistant, au service de celui qui s’en sert.
Le mobilier a un autre point commun avec la Lampe
Gras. Il peut être dérivé de sa fonction première :
une table de nuit (Plug and Dream) peut devenir
une console dans une entrée (Plug and Welcome).
le bureau (Plug and Work) peut devenir un petit
comptoir (Plug and Drink).
Conçu pour résister au temps, conçu pour se patiner
et non vieillir, le mobilier de Gras utilise des maté-
riaux simples et solides : acier, bois et linoleum.

ture in keeping with the Lampe Gras.

ceable in the sense that
it serves the person who
uses it.
Like Lampe Gras, the fur-
niture can also be deflec-
ted from its original func-
tion : a nightstand (Plug
and Dream) can become
a consol in an entrance
(Plug and Welcome) ; the
desk (Plug and Work) can
become a freestanding
counter (Plug and Drink).
