W.A.S. Benson (1854-1924)
In 1880 encouraged by Sir Edward Burn-Jones and William Morris,
William Benson setup his metalworking workshop in Hammersmith,
London. His brass lighting designs quickly became a fovourite
of the Arts & Crafts movement. His designs were sold via his
Bond Street showroom, and William Morris’s London showroom.
These lights are inspired by his designs.
