Overview
__ DE Der S 220 überzeugt mit kontrollierter Or-
ganik und präziser Linienführung, dabei umfasst
die Formholzschale den Nutzer angenehm auf-
nehmend und unterstützend. Die elegante Taille
des Stuhls ermöglicht ein bequemes Schwingen
der Sitzschale. Deren fließend nach unten ab-
gerundete Vorderkante bringt das für den S 220
charakteristische harmonische Zusammenspiel
von Materialqualität, Ästhetik und Funktionali-
tät auf den Punkt: Diese „Wasserfallkante“, wie
die Designer sie nennen, vermeidet Druckstellen,
erhöht so den Sitzkomfort und nimmt dabei die
Radien des Stahlrohr-Untergestells auf.
__ EN The S 220 has an understated organic
form as well as precise lines, and its moulded
plywood shell is comfortable and supportive.
The chair’s elegant hourglass shape means that
the seat shell has just the right amount of give.
A smoothly rounded front edge perfectly embo-
dies the harmonious interplay of material quality,
aesthetics and functionality that is so characte-
ristic of the S 220. This “waterfall edge”, as the
designers call it, avoids pressure points, makes
the chair more comfortable and picks up the ra-
dii of the tubular steel frame.
