Denn Thonet arbeitet seit jeher materialeffizient und ressourcenschonend. Wir haben dieses Prinzip
vor über 165 Jahren in die industrielle Möbelproduktion eingeführt: Der legendäre Kaffeehaus-Stuhl
Nr. 14 (heute 214) bestand und besteht bis heute aus nur sechs Teilen.
__ EN Pure Materials. The outstanding quality of Thonet furniture begins with the materials selec-
ted to make them: from natural solid wood components and distinctive-looking leather that has been
tanned in an eco-friendly process, to spring-hardened steel tubes with special alloys. Thonet’s affinity
with materials is manifested in the visibly and tangibly unique character of its furniture, which is fur-
ther enhanced by the natural patina that develops with decades of use. At the same time, this quality
ensures that our furniture is particularly environmentally friendly. Thonet has always been committed
to the efficient use of materials and the conservation of resources. We introduced these principles
into industrial furniture production over 165 years ago with the legendary coffee house chair no. 14
(today 214), which has always been made from only six parts.
Maßkonfektion Wir denken nicht in Großserien, sondern in Einzelstücken –
eine Haltung, die sehr selten geworden ist. Wir fertigen ausschließlich auftrags-
bezogen. Deshalb können Sie Farben oder Stoffe aus unserer umfangreichen
Materialkollektion frei wählen und individuell gestalten, auch wenn es sich „nur“
um einen einzigen Stuhl handeln sollte.
Customisation We don’t think in terms of large-scale production, but rather in
terms of individual pieces – an approach that has become very rare. All of our
products are made to order, which is why you are at liberty to select colours and
fabrics from our extensive collection to create your own individual look, even if
you are ‘only’ ordering a single chair.
