Smokey Ridge 3 is a nostalgic work of
art on textured paper. In this piece,
minimalism prevails while texture
provides the focal point. The grain of
weathered wood is rendered through
meticulous line work and the careful
application of light and shading.
The eye draws itself to three central
points – a large open door and the
negative space created by two barn
windows in the middle and upper
half of the picture plane. A muted
cool grey background adds depth
to a color palette of onyx, grey, and
vanilla, while giving a sense of three-
dimensionality.

Enigma 1 is a superb example of abstract still life, an art style that focuses less on realistically replicating objects in
favor of eliciting conceptual interpretations. This work relies on geometric and organic shapes along with implied
lines, doodles, and solid areas of textured color to create a dance between the structured and the chaotic. The
well-chosen color palette in dusky blue, greige, maize, and alabaster is accented by pops of crimson, pumpkin,
and charcoal.
A mesmerizing addition to ART by TA, Enigma 1 invites the viewer to go beyond the surface and contemplate the
