Proposant un dialogue entre les matières,
les pièces imaginées par Stéphane Parmentier
révèlent le brutalisme du métal contrebalancé par
la douceur des matières ou la rondeur des formes.
Le designer a construit cette collection à
l’image d’un projet d’architecture intérieure pour
habiller intégralement un salon : une dizaine de
pièces composent un ensemble harmonieux.
Les pièces sont imaginées dans des finitions
et des dimensions différentes pouvant évoluer
selon les besoins, les envies et les contraintes
de chaque projet, avec pour seul objectif, celui
de créer un univers accueillant. Après un an de
dialogue et d’échange avec le designer, la Maison
Pouenat donne vie à cette collection, qui met en
forme des pièces aux dimensions généreuses,
voire
extravagantes,
volontairement
teintées
d’exagération et résolument chic.
Les pièces présentées mixent de manière
inattendue et audacieuse des matières qui, a priori,
semblent incompatibles et dont le mariage pourtant
s’impose comme une évidence. Le champ des
possibles est vaste : laiton patiné foncé ou poli
et brillant, bronze brut ou astiqué, travertin. Des
métaux associés au mohair, à l’alpaga, au cuir, et
au biscuit notamment. L’approche et le travail pointu
du métal chez Pouenat fait écho à la recherche par
Stéphane Parmentier d’une nouvelle sophistication.
Au cœur de son inspiration : la pyrite. Cette pierre
évoque pour le designer le centre de la terre, une
dimension entre le sacré et le sauvage. Cette
collection 2019, d’une fausse simplicité, révèle la
technicité et l’audace nécessaires pour la réaliser
dans de nouvelles finitions parfaites, là où réside
tout le savoir-faire de la Maison Pouenat.

softness of the materials or the roundness of shapes.
The designer has built this collection as he would have
envisioned the interior design of a living room: about
ten pieces make it up. In order to offer a harmonious
ensemble, the pieces are designed in different finishes
and dimensions that can evolve according to the needs,
desires and constraints of each project. The purpose
of this collection is to create a welcoming environment.
After a year and a half of dialogue and conversations
with the designer, Maison Pouenat brings this collection
to life. The pieces feature generous – sometimes
extravagant – dimensions. As a whole, Temperaments is
deliberately tinged with exaggeration and resolutely chic.
The pieces of “Tempéraments” mix in an
unexpected and bold way materials which, a priori,
seem incompatible and whose combination nevertheless
imposes itself as an evidence. The range of possibilities
is vast: dark patinated or polished and shiny brass, raw
or polished bronze, travertine. Metals associated with
mohair, alpaca, leather, and china.
Pouenat’s approach and sharp work on metal echoes
Stéphane Parmentier’s appeal to a new sophistication.
At the heart of Parmentier’s inspiration: pyrite. For the
designer, this stone evokes the very heart of the earth, a
dimension between the sacred and the untamed.
This collection, with its faux simplicity aspect, reveals
the technicality and boldness necessary to create new
perfect finishes, and this is where all the know-how of the
Maison Pouenat lies.
