COFOCO
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK
Cofoco is a trendy place in Copenhagen. In 2004, the Restau-
rant Cofoco opened its doors at Abel Cathrine Gade 7, and
since then it has opened 15 restaurants, which serves sev-
eral dishes from French, Italian, South American, Japanese
to Nordic cuisine. The restaurant located on Abel Cathrines
Gade close to the Central Train Station is the original Cofoco
restaurant. It’s a simple place that pioneered the concept of
fine dining in an informal setting. The menu includes chick-
en, fish, salads, desserts, and vegetable dishes. Put on the
must list the Grønne Asparges, a delicious entry made with
asparagus, feta cheese, herb oil, salted lemon, bonito and red
amaranth that will make you beg for more. The pea soup is
also wonderful as the flavours melt together in your mouth.
Taste either the Kalkuncuvette and the ananas dessert Køben-
havnerstang. The dishes are made with fresh Danish product,
but the taste is inspired by French and Southern European
cuisine. The restaurant offers trendy seating arrangements
including the ‘long table’, a table where the unknowns can
eat together, featuring comfy high-legged bar chairs.
This fine and affordable eatery in the Vesterbro district of
Copenhagen is extremely popular for their high-quality food.
The concept is simple. Cofoco is an acronym for Copenha-
gen Food Consulting, and as these three words indicate, the
goal from day one has been to point the guests in the right
direction and help them find their way to a good meal. In
addition, Cofoco wants their customers to feel like they are
getting twice as much for half the price. That means you get
a menu, which can consist of three to five delicious courses
for a fixed price matching most people’s budget, while some
also offer à la carte.
