ANDERSEN HOTEL
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK
The Andersen Hotel is a new welcoming surprise for Copenhagen vis-
itors since 2012. Located on Vesterbro in the heart of Copenhagen, the
Hotel is a central option only 200m from the central station of Copen-
hagen, so the access is really easy. As the location matters, The Ander-
sen is close to the city centre, metro, parks, shopping, restaurants and
the nightlife. This vibrant urban area is packed with reputable restau-
rants, trendy bars, and laidback atmosphere. All you could be looking
for! It’s the perfect spot for Andersen Hotel with its modern and edgy
design that really reflects the city’s energy. Vesterbro, which encom-
passes Copenhagen’s “meatpacking district,” has gone from gritty to
glamorous, much like the one in Manhattan. Pity the butchers who’ve
been pushed out, but envy the restaurateurs, artists and artisans, bar-
tenders, designers, and others who now call this neighbourhood home.
Unlike the one in Manhattan, however, this area retains much of its
rough, craggy charm. Andersen puts you near Istedgade, Halmtorvet,
and Værnedamsvej (also known as “food street”), which today specia-
lises in cool clothes and popular cafes, rather than the meat products
and red-light vices of yesteryear. The Hotel is completely renovated
and all 73 rooms and suites are decorated with textiles and wallpapers
from award-winning English Designers Guild, known for its use of
vibrant colours and exclusive wallpapers. Somehow, there is a passion
for pink in the Hotel. The vibrant colour gives a sense of exciting live
and vibrancy to its guests.
The urban and bold colours are extraordinary and come to life in the
rooms, restaurant and into the hip lobby lounge. Fun precedes func-
tional, with nary a pale wooden chair in sight. In-your-face graphics
trump comforting cosiness, and carpet, rather than smooth planks,
covers the floor. All rooms at the hotel are stylish and luxurious deco-
rated with Philippe Starck items and exclusive Molton Brown toilet-
ries. Philippe Starck pieces used in the decoration make the hotel very
stylish and very in. The sense of design in all corners is notable.
The hotel offers free WI- FI, 24hour reception, bike rental and well-
equipped rooms with fridge, safe and bathtub in most rooms. Discover
small surprises when taking the stairs. You can enjoy the Honesty Bar,
a well-assorted wine menu and organic speciality tea and coffee from
NUTE, monthly events or the daily complimentary Wine Hour in the
Lobby Lounge. The breakfast at Andersen Hotel is also a very good sur-
prise. The hotel welcomes’ you in the most important meal of the day,
plenty of choices. You can’t forget to taste one of Denmark’s typical
cake, the Danish carrot cake with cream. It’s a delicious way to start
the day. The hotel has an innovative concept, The Concept 24, that
was introduced with the opening. The desire is to meet the guest’s
expectations of a late departure at no extra costs. With this concept,
the guest may keep the room for 24hours no matter the time of arrival.
The hotel is the winner in 2014, 2015 and 2016 in the Danish award
of the World Luxury Hotel, in the category “Luxury Boutique Hotel”
For 2017, The Andersen is nominee in the categories “Boutique, design,
city, small and Urban Hotel. Andersen Boutique Hotel was awarded
TripAdvisor’s Traveller’s Choice in 2017 and has won World Luxury
Hotel Awards three years in a row for Luxury Boutique Hotel.
