The premier and most prestigious furniture fair in Spain, Feria
Del Mueble Yecla is set to occur from the 25th to the 28th of
September. Inmaculada Hernandez serves as the director of the
successful event, which expects more than 4000 exhibitors from
all the parts of the world, including France, the Czech Republic,
Romania, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Mexico and Taiwan. For the
past three years, the prominent fair has had as its protagonist the
premium showcase Channel Contract. Celebrated for 56 years,
Yecla is the oldest furniture fair organised in Spain that has never
stopped being celebrated, and for a reason. The Traditional source
of income of the municipality was wine and, due to a plague, a
good part of the vines was destroyed, something that affected not
only the farmers and winemakers but also the auxiliary industry.
As a result, several carpenters and cabinet makers started making
furniture and found out that the best way to achieve their goals
was to commence a fair.
Another delicate moment in the history of Yecla was the
economic crisis which affected nearly everyone at the end of the
last decade. In addition, there was also an increase of competition
which compelled the organisers to find new ways of relaunching
and renovating. From this was born the contract that changed
everything and allowed the firm to steadily grow more and more
each year.
The furniture fair makes sure to establish a particularly close
collaboration with prominent institutions, such as the Promotion
of the Region of Murcia, which together they consolidate the
bilateral meetings between international prescribers and exhibitors.
The representatives of the fair assure that everything is executed
perfectly in advance and that those who are meant to occupy the
stands of the two exhibition areas, habitat and contract, have been
confirmed. Year after year, the interest of furniture professionals,
merchants and prescribers increases, making Yecla a worthy
reference within the industry.
In regards to parallel events, the “Interior Show Yecla” is a
continuing event that focuses on showcasing the high-quality
productions of its exhibitors, even after the daily closing of the
main exhibition. To this end, an emblematic place of the city of
Yecla is chosen and through a very special assembly, they create a
show directed to the prescribers of the contract channel. Renowned
for taking the meaning of design to a new dimension, the company
BIMBAMBUM is responsible for the development of this activity
which happens outdoors.
Each season, Yecla allows exhibitors to innovate by creating the
most avant-garde and high-quality designs. This has been one of
the most positive factors for the fruition of the event. While the
Habitat area remains a vital feature, the Channel contract has
gained distinction within the event, becoming a focal point that
is aimed at the corporate and institutional client whose exhibitors
display outstanding projects. This is the reason why Yecla is
