“The show’s ‘Talks with 100% Design’
presents an agenda-setting programme
that explores trends in contemporary
practice as well as the future of design,
while a second programme focusing on
professional development takes place
in The Forum.”
100% Design is currently the UK's largest trade show for architects
and designers and it is returning to Olympia, London from 20-
23 September for its twenty-third edition. The show welcomes
hundreds of exhibitors and more than 27,000 visitors to the
burgeoning design district of West Kensington, over four days, as
the foundation event of the London Design Festival, helping to
foster relationships between some of the world’s biggest architects,
designers, specifiers, retailers and developers.
Each year, 100% Design adopts a theme, which is reflected across
its installations, features, talks, programmes and show design.
Overseeing the implementation of the theme across these areas
is newly appointed Content Editor, Max Fraser, a leading design
journalist. For the 2017 edition, the chosen theme is Elements,
which encompasses everything from the fundamentals of design
to the component parts that make up a product, the materials used
to the stories and processes of development.
The show’s ‘Talks with 100% Design’ presents an agenda-setting
programme that explores trends in contemporary practice as
well as the future of design, while a second programme focusing
on professional development takes place in The Forum. For this
year’s edition, the show will host Dealer Day, a professional
programme of networking, seminars and talks for this influential
design community. With the latest UK product launched from
an array of brands and designers, 100% Design occupies a crucial
place in the commercial heart of design in the country. With five
distinct sections: Interiors, Workplace, Kitchens & Bathrooms,
Design & Build and Emerging Brands, 100% Design is unique
in its cross-sector appeal to design professionals. Interiors is the
longest running section at 100% Design, presenting prestigious
international brands with products ranging from furniture and
lighting to fabrics and accessories. Mid-century and art deco-
inspired designs are prominent in this section this year, with
brands such as Mambo Unlimited, Due and Mullan Lighting, who
will launch a new range of lights for hotels at the show. Lastly,
Design London will return for the second time where a carefully
selected group of brands showcase the very best in high-quality
design, detail and craftsmanship, with each company contributing
to London's reputation as the design capital of the world.
