A FASCINATING AND MEMORABLE
CREATION BY PEPE LEAL
Held in Casa Décor Madrid, it all started with a challenge that was
brought up by AICEP Portugal Global - Trade & Investment Agency
from the Portuguese Government - to the Spanish interior designer
Pepe Leal. After taking it, Pepe´s main goal was to break up with the
conceived idea that Portugal is old fashioned and rustic, highlighting
the fact that it is a country where tradition and topicality go along
with peace and quality.
From the ceilings, passing through the walls and floor, until the dé-
cor itself, each and every detail came from Portugal in the creation
of a Lusitano Corner.
Pepe Leal is the protagonist in the conception of this project.
Passionate for Portugal, he is one of the most renowned Interior De-
signers in Spain. He considers Portugal to be “sophisticated and ele-
gant” and believes that extraordinary things are made there, things
that people from Spain are not aware of.
He carefully selected Portuguese historic and significant materials,
like cork, blue tiles and pink marble, so that he would be able to
reflect perfectly the Portuguese culture and the kind of furniture
that has been made in Portugal. The rich handcrafted Portuguese
tradition walks hand in hand with the modern design of its indus-
try in this Pepe Leal´s creation. The display puts together various
atmospheres towards a greater chance to show a wider variety of
products. A perfect and glamorous fusion between traditional and
contemporary reflects exactly what Portugal represents in this in-
dustry nowadays.
All luxury furniture pieces were flawlessly selected, among them
you can find: Heritage Sideboard by Boca do Lobo, Brubeck Suspen-
sion Light by Delightful, and other brands.
Everything happened in Madrid, the capital city of Spain and the
perfect place to toss new trends as it is a golden mine of Interior
Designers. With a cosmopolitan and sophisticated lifestyle, Madrid
is also a splendid brand display for tourists from all over the world.
This journey has just begun in Madrid but it is not over yet. The
possibility of taking this idea to other countries is open so lets look
forward to it.
