The goal was to create a bright and lively atrium reflecting Barcelona’s local squares and Mediterranean lifestyle
with subtle influences of Catalan culture and art. The new design creates a warm, glamorous and luxurious space
which invites the guests deep into the atrium towards the hotel retail, food and beverage outlets.
Metallic and mirror-clad elements form intimate areas within the spacious atrium shaping a welcoming
atmosphere that adds reflection and depth. The integral illumination transforms the arches into a lively and
entertaining environment during the evening. The simple forms of these structures have a strong visual presence
when viewed from the upper surrounding open corridors and they also create direct views and control guest
flow through the atrium. The re-design has enabled the typical guest bedrooms to be opened up, giving the room
a more inviting, brighter and generous feel. The palette of neutrals with warm and fresh colour accents add a
contemporary flair to the ambience. The window seats and adjacent desk unit draw attention to stunning city
views while the introduction of an exquisite dressing table and minibar, grant this space an even more luxurious
and modern touch.
