LAST STOP
SUNNY ABERDEEN
Yes, the city is known as sunny Aberdeen because it is one of the
most pleasant cities in Scotland weather-wise, and the day we chose
to visit it, we were not deceived. We were lucky enough to find a
sunny winter day, in which the cold was not a problem due to the
warm rays of sunbathing the castle’s ruins.
Things to see: Old town of Aberdeen, with well-preserved ancient
buildings and streets. For shopping, make sure you stroll down
Belmont Street. And finally do not miss the opportunity to visit
Stonehaven, a beautiful city by the sea, with the tastiest Fish &
Chips of Scotland, which is just 2 miles away from another one of
Scotland’s most amazing castles. Dunnottar Castle is a ruined me-
dieval fortress. The buildings we see today are mainly from the 15th
and 16th centuries, and the Castle itself played an important role
in the history of Scotland, being a strategic point during the 18th
century Jacobite uprisings. The ruins of the castle are spread over
1.4 hectares and offer one of the most stunning views ever, though
its seaside steep cliffs.
