COVETED MAGAZINE PAGE 51.
CM: How would you describe your signature style?
Did the time you’ve spent in Amsterdam influenced
it in any way?
FB: I’m young and I’m still building my personal
style, but I can definitely say that my style travels
between vintage and the essential, between the
decoration and the femininity, between the lightness
and the purity of the shapes. Form, colour, beauty,
trends are fundamental to me and my research.
CM: What would you say are your core inspirations?
What drives you?
FB: The process starts often with an inspiration
taken by the past, or from nature. I like the existing
objects that man has created over the times. I like to
think of restoring a new life to past epochs, riveting
modern objects. For me, research is fundamental to
creating an object. I don’t stop and I find inspiration
in any field. With my projects, I want to move, to
touch the customer, that’s my aim. In a world where
we are full of products, I need that my products
say something, they have to talk to the world and
transmit peace and elegance.
CM: You were the only woman amongst the
awardees at the January edition of the Rising
Talents Awards. What do you have to say regarding
the role of women in design, and, more specifically,
in Italian Design?
FB: For years, men in design were more than
women, and many women of design were the wives
of great designers. Now everything is changed, I
think that now many women are really assuming
this profession. Despite this, there are those who
think we are only good at decorating. I think that
the feminine touch is essential in the product design
world. I think that the woman, as “creator”, is able
to create products with a strong emotional value.
CM: What’s next for you? What are your
expectations and what do you hope for 2018?
FB: I have so many projects in the drawer... The
next step is the Milano Design Week, where I will
present some new products, including a table, a
chair, a lamp, wallcoverings and a bookcase! With
Mingardo, the company that I follow as an art
director, I will exhibit, in Via Paisiello 6, a new pole
of the organization “Ventura Lambrate”. I think it
will be a really beautiful place to visit, with many
interesting companies.
