WORLD’S FINEST RESTAURANTS //
OMAKASE
SAN FRANCISCO, USA
From its impeccably sourced fish, extensive sake selection and
handcrafted plate ware to its genuine, warm and welcoming
service, Omakase is a truly extraordinary dining experience that
makes guests feel as if they had stepped into an oasis in Tokyo.
As you walk in the door at Omakase, you feel as if you were
stepping into an exclusive yet approachable sushi restaurant in
Tokyo. Wait staff is dressed in casual, custom-made Japanese
kimonos and display authentic Japanese etiquette. The decor is
extremely elegant, yet simple, reminiscent of traditional dining
establishments in Japan. Designed by San Francisco-based interior
designer Aya Jessani, along with Feng and Yu, this relaxing, Zen-
like approach also remains a strong focus on Omakase’s decor and
lighting choices. Chef Yu offers two different fixed-price tasting
menus, both offering traditional, yet exquisite, fare. Guests are
able to experience new menu options every time they visit, as fish
selections are changed almost daily.
To ensure the highest quality and freshness, Omakase’s fish
is imported directly from the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo
three times per week, and prepared with recipes and processes
proprietary to Chef Yu and Omakase. The impressive beverage
collection boasts some of the best sake available directly from
Japan. The sake is served in a distinctly beautiful line of Japanese,
handmade pewter cups and pitchers from the only pewter art craft
speciality shop in Japan. Feng’s sake experience spans further than
the in-house selection. An avid taster of some of the best sake in
the world, Feng also hires several consultants to pair his dishes
with their appropriate sake counterpart.
