SHANG PALACE
PARIS, FRANCE
Located in the interiors of the majestic Shangri-La Hotel Paris, one
of the most renowned and celebrated hospitality designs not only
in the country but also internationally, the Shang Palace Restaurant
specialises in offering Cantonese fine dining experience to its guests,
and CovetED had the absolute delight to have visited this amazing
establishment. The restaurant opened in 2011 and is actually the
very first Chinese restaurant in France to have been awarded a
Michelin star. Inspired by Southeast China’s culinary traditions,
the restaurant has become one of the most popular gourmet
destinations among tourist due to providing authentic Chinese
cuisine, prepared by the brilliant Chef Samuel Lee Sum, who always
challenges himself to improve his already-phenomenal cooking.
In his dishes, there’s a stunning combination of colour and ingredients
that are complemented by the natural flavours of seasonal produce.
In regards to cuisine, our team recommends the Fried eggplant glazed
with gravy, sesame and ginger and Marinated foi gras and bean curd
in Chaozhou style, accompanied by the delicious Buddha soup. In
addition, the braised blue lobster with spring onions in superior
sauce and the fried rice with barbecue pork are also excellent choices
for a superb dinner that really embodies the best out of Cantonese
cuisine. The restaurant also features a valuable and fine list of wines,
including the extraordinary Puligny-Montrachet, which for wine
connoisseurs will certainly be the cherry on top of your visit.
