LE GRAND VÉFOUR
PARIS, FRANCE
For more than 200 hundred years, the fine establishment that is Le
Grand Véfour Restaurant has been one of the most refined gourmet
venues among celebrated individuals, including politics and artists.
The tradition and history of the restaurant blend harmoniously
with our modern times, and CovetED got the fortunate pleasure to
visit this extraordinary Parisian venue.
As soon we sat down and got comfortable, we were stunned by
the narrative-telling paintings as well as its unique decor aesthetic.
This unique Michelin-starred restaurant features an 18th-century
decor which is unnoticeable the minute you enter, our team was
also pleasantly surprised by the series of aesthetic sculptured painted
wood panelling decorated with garlands and flowers as well as the
exquisite paintings and decorative mirrors, creating a visual feast
for our eyes and, we could already tell, that the cuisine would also
surpass our expectations.
When tasting the delicious food prepared by Chef Guy Martin,
one can savour an avalanche of traditional flavours that have been
crafted over the years by successive chefs. Regarding main dishes,
we were absolutely marvelled by their signature dish, the Duck liver
ravioli dressed in truffles emulsion cream, a dish worthy of gods,
nevertheless, the Pigeon roast in a bécasse way with truffle juice
is also an excellent option. Next, we revelled in a sweet journey
with the restaurant’s desserts, including the majestic milk chocolate
mousse on hazelnut pastry, caramel ice cream and Guérande sea
salt. It was everything we were hoping for and put together with
the marvellous main dishes and attentive service, it made everything
even better. As a whole, Le Grand Véfour is a must-visit gourmet
venue full of tradition and history and we definitely recommend it.
