BOMMA is passionate about developing advanced technologies and this includes continued
efforts to reduce environmental impacts of glass manufacturing. Fragmentglass is an innovative
new material utilizing waste shards upcycled from BOMMA’s previous production. All
BOMMA lighting undergoes strict quality control. Pieces with imperfections inevitably end up
as glass shards, despite the many hours that glassmakers spend creating them. However, glass
is a material that can be remelted and repurposed. This process inspired the designers from
DECHEM Studio to create Fragmentglass, an unconventional material that upcycles waste
shards and breathes new life into them.
