Typical patterns of the folklore are reintepreted with a contemporary look,
with branches and pomegranates printed on a precious Indian silk. The
sharp edges and the contrasting colours define shapes and highlight the
liveliness of the design. The exotic atmosphere of the décor echoes the
famous ballet by Marius Petipa La Bayadère (1877), which narrates the
story of a young Indian dancer.

The design of this wallcovering, given by the juxtaposition of multicoloured
geometric shapes, recalls the reflections and the symmetry created by a
kaleidoscope. The meeting between natural light and human invention
recalls the theme of the great ballet Excelsior (1881) on music by the
composer Romualdo Marenco: an allegorical journey where Light guides
Civilization towards progress, revealing all inventions and scientific
conquests that characterized the XIX century.

matching wallcoverings, this plain variant is made with raw silk, which
features a distinctive textured effect with slubs and knots coming from
semi-refined weft yarns. This particular silk is weaved with metallic yarns
to enrich the material.
