The name and model’s inspiration doesn’t come from the prophesy, rather from the idea that the Mayan people, mathematicians, artists and architects, have handed down an important heritage of culture and traditions to us in modern times. The new bed, designed by Giuseppe Bavuso, has a structure that appears sober, but is in reality the fruit of careful research in materials and shapes. The linear headboard, made of steel covered with cold injected polyurethane foam, has a lightly bevelled design that’s rounded on the sides to give it a more glamorous feel. The base is made of steel with a polyurethane foam covered bedframe. The frame is made of aluminium profile, while the legs are made of die-cast aluminium, with a polished or painted finish. MAYA can have a leather or fabric covering. The base has beech slats. Its soft but decisive shapes make this model the ideal solution for a modern and sophisticated environment.
