o tutto laccato. Imbottitura in poliuretano e dacron. Rivestimento in pelle
o ecopelle. ⁄ Art. 484: Sofa with chrome–plated tubular steel frame with painted
cross–bars or totally painted frame. Cushions made of polyurethane foam
and dacron. Leather or eco–leather covers.
GEORGE NELSON
George Nelson fu uno dei pionieri del movimento moderno,
assieme a straordinari designers americani come Raymond Loewy,
Charles Eames e Eliot Noyes. Lo studio di Nelson produsse
alcuni dei pezzi canonici del design industriale del XX secolo,
molti dei quali sono ancora in produzione: l’orologio “Ball”,
la lampada “Bubble” ed il divano “Sling”. Nelson fornì anche grossi
contributi anche allo “Storage wall”, al centro commerciale, alla
presentazione multimediale e al sistema di ufficio “Open–plan”.
La gamma completa dei lavori di Nelson è ben rappresentata,
dal disegno di prodotto ed arredo al packaging e grafica, a progetti
a grande scala come la casa “Fairchild” e la Fiera Nazionale
Americana a Mosca del 1959.

George Nelson
George Nelson was one of the pioneers of the modernist design movement
together with such exceptional American designers as Raymond Loewy, Charles
Eames and Eliot Noyes. The output from Nelson’s studio included some of the most
historic examples of 20th century industrial design, many of the items being still
in production today: such as the “Ball” clock, the “Bubble” lamp and the “Sling”
sofa. Nelson also gave a great contribution to the design of the “Storage wall”,
the shopping centre, multi–media presentation and the “Open–plan” office system.
The full range of Nelson’s works spanning from product and furnishing design,
to packaging and graphics, to his larger scale projects such as the “Fairchild”
house and the American National Exhibition in Moscow in 1959.
