In 1987 Alberto Meda experimented the compact polyurethane moulded with metal on the Dry table. Today,
this project is the centrepiece of Alias collections in displaying company’s ability to bring together stylistic
lightness and cutting-edge technology. The geometry of the legs and the connection between structure
and top have been reworked and DRY is now the perfect synthesis of the kind of design thinking that finds
extraordinary compositional richness in formal simplicity. The elegant aluminium base is broken down into an
attractive shape thanks to a joint that becomes the key detail of the entire project. The glass top, available
in two dimensions, combines functionality and aesthetics in a single element, revealing the beauty of the
structure.
Era il 1987 quando Alberto Meda sperimentava per la prima volta l'uso del poliuretano compatto costampato
con il metallo per il tavolo Dry. Oggi questo progetto torna protagonista delle collezioni Alias per raccontare
l'incontro tra leggerezza stilistica e tecnologia d’avanguardia. Rivisitato nella geometria delle gambe
e nell’attacco tra struttura e piano, DRY è la sintesi perfetta di un pensiero progettuale che riscopre
nell’essenzialità formale una straordinaria ricchezza compositiva. L’elegante base in alluminio si snoda in una
forma seducente grazie ad un giunto che diventa il dettaglio chiave dell’intero progetto. Il piano in cristallo,
disponibile in due dimensioni, risolve in un solo elemento la funzionalità dell’oggetto e la sua componente
estetica, lasciando intravedere la bellezza della struttura.
