Agape Bathrooms
The project is a narrative. Every room is a story.
Designing and scripting the most intimate place of the
home, the bathroom, is what we have been doing for fifty
years with our products, words in a vocabulary with which we
articulate thoughts, dialogues, plotlines.
To each setting its own terms. We have dictionaries
to write the most diverse scripts, words to slow down the
action or speed it up, launch ourselves into sequence shots or
indulge in close-ups. Sometimes we write portraits: we need
those too, to understand who gets to take the stage and why.
In this catalogue you will find twelve tales in images, not
at all imaginary but, on the contrary, real: material, as they
say. They are screenplays articulated between irony, elegance,
flare and sophistication, pause, chase and snap.
Twelve scripts that explore different stories, sometimes
complementary, as happens in life, which one day is a
caress and the next is rough, one moment transparent and
the next gloomy. And like life, these stories are generous
with surprises, the kind that allow us to continually reinvent
ourselves. They are traces to be interpreted to imagine one’s
own personal story, suggested by the glimpses and words we
offer in these pages, diverse but all unmistakably Agape.

Progettare e raccontare il luogo più intimo dell’abitare,
il bagno, è quello che facciamo da cinquant’anni con i nostri
prodotti, lemmi di un vocabolario con cui articoliamo pensieri,
dialoghi, canovacci.
A ciascuna scena le sue parole. Abbiamo dizionari per
scrivere i copioni più diversi, vocaboli per rallentare l’azione o
accelerarla, lanciarci nei piani sequenza o indulgere nei primi
piani. Certe volte scriviamo ritratti: servono anche quelli, per
capire chi arriva a prendersi la scena e perché.
In questo catalogo trovate dodici racconti per immagini
niente affatto immaginari, anzi concreti: materici, come usa
dire. Sono sceneggiature articolate tra ironia ed eleganza,
guizzo e sofisticatezza, pausa, rincorsa e scatto.
Dodici copioni che esplorano storie diverse, a volte
complementari, come succede nella vita, che un giorno è
una carezza e quello dopo è ruvida, un attimo è trasparente
e quello dopo ombrosa. E come la vita, queste storie sono
generose di sorprese, quelle che ci permettono di reinventarci
continuamente. Sono tracce da interpretare per immaginare
una propria storia personale, suggerita dagli scorci e dalle
parole che offriamo in queste pagine, molteplici ma tutti
inconfondibilmente Agape.
