Quella del cerchio nell'architettura moderna è
un'idea splendidamente espressa dal grande mae-
stro Carlo Scarpa che nelle sue opere (nell'immagine,
il disegno del progetto della nota Tomba Brion 1970-
1978) non utilizzava il cerchio come decoro ma come
elemento narrativo e funzionale che guida lo sguar-
do connettendo passato e presente. Scarpa utilizza il
cerchio come segno di permanenza e infinito, richia-
mando l'architettura classica e orientale ed evocan-
do tanto l'armonia della natura quanto le forme pure
dell'astrazione concettuale.
I suoi cerchi architettonici, così come la ricercatez-
za dei dettagli, l'uso combinato di materiali come il ve-
tro, il legno, il bronzo e l'acqua, evolvono il linguaggio
dello stile brutalista degli anni '50 conferendogli un
unico e sorprendente senso di leggerezza e sofistica-
tezza.
The idea of the circle in modern architecture is re-
markably expressed by the great master Carlo Scar-
pa who, in his works (in the picture, the design of the
famous Brion Tomb 1970-1978), did not use the circle
as a decoration, but as a narrative and functional
element that guides the gaze by connecting the past
and present. Scarpa uses the circle as a sign of per-
manence and in�nity, recalling classical and oriental
architecture and evoking both the harmony of nature
and the pure forms of conceptual abstraction.
His architectural circles, as well as the re�nement
of the details, the combined use of materials such as
glass, wood, bronze and water, evolve the language
of the brutalist style of the 1950s, giving it a unique
and surprising sense of lightness and sophistication.
ARCHI è una nuova collezione ADL che inscrive la
forma del cerchio nei sottilissimi perimetri di alluminio
che costituiscono i telai delle ante di vetro. Tre solu-
zioni compositive, tre diverse interpretazioni della re-
lazione del cerchio con la geometria dell'elemento di
connessione: tangente alle linee orizzontali, a quelle
verticali o svilcolato dalle linee. Ogni composizione
può essere interpretata con uno o più cerchi in base al
numero delle ante e al disegno che si desidera portare
nella scena architettonica.
ARCHI è disponibile in apertura a bilico, scorrevole
e rototraslante e in tutte le finiture alluminio ADL.
ARCHI is a new ADL collection that inscribes the
shape of the circle in the very thin aluminum peri-
meters that make up the frames of the glass panes.
Three compositional solutions, three different inter-
pretations of the relationship of the circle with the
geometry of the connecting element: tangent to the
horizontal lines, to the vertical lines or free from the
lines. Each composition can be interpreted with one
or more circles based on the number of doors and the
design you want to bring into the architectural scene.
ARCHI is available with a pivot, sliding and roto-
translating opening and in all ADL aluminum �nishes.
