Collezione di tavoli bassi realizzati sottoponendo il cristallo ad un
trattamento di fusione ad alta temperatura. Il top è realizzato fondendo
una lastra sagomata di cristallo colorato (bronzo, grigio, blu o ambra)
su una lastra di cristallo extrachiaro, dando così luogo ad una texture
irregolare che richiama le stratificazioni dei ghiacciai, alterando la
percezione del materiale e amplificandone la relazione con la luce. Il
vetro perde uniformità e acquisisce una presenza più densa e materica,
portando all’estremo il limite tra solidità e fluidità: i piani sembrano
sciogliersi in corrispondenza dell’appoggio sulla struttura sottostante,
deformandosi e adagiandosi morbidamente alla stessa. La base, in
cristallo trasparente mm.12 fuso e incollato, contribuisce con la sua
leggerezza visiva a valorizzare il piano. Nel side table il top è fissato alla
base, mentre negli altri formati è in appoggio.
Low tables made from cast glass subject to a high-temperature
casting process. The top is formed by melting a shaped slab of
coloured glass (bronze, grey, blue, or amber) onto an extralight glass
sheet, thus creating an irregular surface that evokes the formation of
glaciers, altering the perception of the material and emphasizing its
relationship with light. The glass loses its uniformity, acquiring a denser
and more physical presence that pushes the boundary between
solidity and fluidity to the extreme: the surface appears to melt where
it lands upon the underlying structure, spreading randomly and settling
softly against it. The base, in 12 mm cast bonded transparent glass,
enhances the top thanks to its visual lightness. The top is fixed to the
base on the side table whilst in the other models it simply rests on it.
