Tradition meets
innovation
Grandstands at Horse Racetrack Vienna, Austria
The racetrack’s building had been unused for over 70
years but was transformed into an office of the future dur-
ing its three years of renovation. During the revitalisation,
the ‘Activity-Based Working’ model for modern working
was applied. For the implementation of this concept, the
BETO floor lamp was customised and equipped with ad-
vanced sensor technology. The sensors measure light in-
tensity, noise level, air quality, presence, and temperature.
BETO with IoT Sensor
The information BETO collects is sent to a cloud from
which either automated processes are run, or information
is recorded for optimisation. Within daily routines, for
example, this allows workplace occupancy or exceed-
ing a specified sound level threshold at the workstation
to be communicated via control lights. The customised
free-standing luminaires thus offer the user greater com-
fort, reduce operating costs, and contribute to running the
building in a more environmentally friendly manner.
