“ As the XAL Group, we want to make a contribution to
achieving the Paris climate targets and are committed
to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi).”
Martin Dlaska, Managing Director XAL Holding GmbH
Our goal is clear: We want to reduce our emissions –
based on scientifi c fi ndings and quickly enough to make
our contribution to achieving the Paris climate targets.
We consider both the emissions directly attributable to
the XAL Group (Scope 1 and 2) and the emissions that
arise upstream and downstream in the supply chain
(Scope 3). In addition to emissions that can be directly
infl uenced, such as fuel, heating, cooling, and electricity,
the most important categories are emissions that arise
during our products’ production (purchased materials)
and use (electricity required for operation). We have
further emphasised this goal with our commitment to
the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and are now
preparing to validate our quantitative targets.
We regularly have our corporate social responsibility
evaluated holistically by EcoVadis. In 2024, XAL GmbH
in Graz was awarded the Platinum Medal. The platinum
level is only awarded to the top 1% of companies.
The most important production sites (including the
headquarters) have had an externally accredited man-
agement system for quality (ISO 9001), environment
(ISO 14001), and health and safety (ISO 45001) since
2015 and 2019 respectively. In 2020, we joined the UN
Global Compact Initiative, whose principles guide our
relationships with each other and our stakeholders, our
supply chain management, and our resource strategies.
Through our activities, we have already contributed
to eight of the 17 SDGs – including our measures on
climate protection, training, and health and safety in the
workplace.
