Perfect, powerful light for the new Aertssen Group
headquarters in Belgium – implemented with just one
luminaire that remains almost invisible. Nothing was to
distract from the building's special, unique shape and
no luminaire was to be visible through the transparent
façade. In addition, the interior designer wanted to use
the same luminaire to create a sense of unity between
the areas on the diff erent fl oors. The luminaire was to
be as small as possible, have an understated design
and yet meet the requirements for the highest light
quality in a modern offi ce environment.
The chosen UNICO downlight is as unique as the
building itself. Thanks to the various shapes, light
insets, sensors, and control options, it meets all the
requirements of the lighting concept: Sleek and un-
derstated in design and so powerful that UNICO was
used for the diff erent offi ce and meeting rooms, for
the lounge zones, and for the entrance area, whose
height is over fi ve metres, thanks to its individual
confi gurability. The square version with nine highly
glare-reduced light insets (UGR < 19) was installed
above the desks. UNICO thus blends harmoniously
into the headquarters' architecture, remains discreet
in the rooms, and ensures uniform, high-quality light-
ing in all areas.
